Privacy Policy

Draft for review. Each school using NunyaSOP should adapt this notice and have it reviewed against the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) before go-live.

Who is responsible

Your school decides what information it keeps about learners, parents and staff and why. NunyaSOP is the software the school uses to hold and process that information on its behalf.

What the school keeps

  • Learner records: names, date of birth, class, admission details, attendance, assessment scores and report cards.
  • Parent and guardian contact details, and their choices about SMS, WhatsApp and promotional messages.
  • Fees, invoices, payments and receipts.
  • Medical and welfare notes, visible only to staff the school has specifically authorised.

How it is protected

  • Each school’s information is kept separate and cannot be seen by any other school.
  • Only school staff can sign in, and each staff member only sees what their role needs.
  • Sensitive actions — payments, marks, published results, exports and access changes — are permanently logged.
  • Personal details are never placed in web addresses.

Messages

The school only sends SMS or WhatsApp messages to guardians who have agreed to receive them. Parents can change these choices at any time by contacting the school office.

Your rights

You may ask the school for a copy of the information it holds about you or your child, and ask for mistakes to be corrected. Contact the school office to make a request.
